Description
I wrote a poem to go with the photo. I hope you enjoy it.
The Old Man In The Window
I look at myself what do I see
Defeated old man looks back at me
Many memories over the years
Few of smiles most of tears
Many regrets along the way
I stare out the window day by day
I try to focus on the here and now
But my mind will not allow
Hell of war has its cost
So many loved ones that were lost
Tears of innocents fell like rain
Silent screams still in my brain
Young child so sweet but weak
Taken before he can speak
Lord knows I've seen my share
Indifference, no one to care
So I sit old and broken
Reliving horrors still unspoken
Seeking solace from the Trinity
For mankind stripped of dignity
Don't know how much longer the journey will last
I make my peace and move forward into the past
